Some of my kids are off at EFY this week, which I have posted about before - and a writer from the UK wonders about the costs and benefits of the program and its quasi-commercial status.
And in other news...
- girls sweep the first Google Science Fair, including a 17-year old taking honors for ovarian cancer drug research
- Despite all the hype about teen pregnancy (reality shows, Bristol Palin's special, etc), teen pregnancy is the lowest it's been since we started keeping track in the 1930s
- RM Elizabeth Smart will become an ABC contributor on missing person stories, showing yet again her beautiful resilience in putting her life back together and being a strong voice on behalf of others
What's new in your neck of the woods?
